Eligibility Requirements
- The ACAMAR Fellow applicant must hold a PhD (or expect to have a PhD before the start of the fellowship) and have a competitive background in relevant research areas related to ACAMAR, such as radio astronomy (including FAST, SKA and its pathfinder projects) or Antarctic astronomy.
- The applicant must be from an Australian institution.
- The applicant must have good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a group environment.

Duration and location of Fellowships
The employment period is generally for 2 years and may be extended for an additional year (subject to job and funding situations, see Fellowship details in table below). Fellows are hosted by a Chinese host institution but may work at one or more Australian institutions for a certain period of the year during the employment, depending on the research project. Details can be discussed with the Chinese host institution.
Salaries and Benefits
The annual salary for an ACAMAR Fellow is 400,000 RMB, or ~85,500 AUD (including insurance and other benefits, @1AUD=4.68RMB), plus research funding. The Chinese host institution can assist the ACAMAR Fellow in applying for various national and local funding opportunities to secure additional research funding.

Applicants should reach out to their proposed Chinese host institution to discuss their application and to obtain a Letter of Support.
Following that, applicants should submit the following documents by email to [email protected] by 10 October 2024.
- A detailed CV and description of the applicant’s research background.
- A Letter of Support from the Chinese host institution.
An ACAMAR committee will assess all applications. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 21 October 2024.
